Before Apple released the iPad to the mass market, you would have found some companies, such as Archos have been producing these unit for awhile. Archos have now introduced the Google Android OS. There have been many new tablet PC units arriving in the market place over the last year, not only with Apple or Google OS but other various OS systems as well.

Next year looks like becoming a very strong competitive market place for the internet tablet. Not only are the smaller companies producing internet tablets, using the Google Android OS, and with the release of the new Gingerbread OS from Google (Android 2.3), due out early next year. This will allow Google to gain a greater market share, with the likes of LG, Samsung, HTC and Sony who also use this platform in there phones and tablets. Companies like HP introducting the PALM , Motorola and RIM (Blackberry) ready to lanuch the PLAYBOOK are also looking for a share in this latest technology, with there own Tablets running there own OS being released next year. This does not take into account the launch of the new iPad 2 from apple, scheduled for April 2011. Microsoft are following on the heels of everyone else, looking to take their place with a OS based on the Window 7 platform which now are being used in some phones.
